Welcome

This is my personal webpage. It may not be too serious, but all the information should be correct and hopefully up to date.

I was born in Cagliari (ITALY), the 4th of December 1983.

Since May 2012, I am a PostDoc in Particle Physics at INFN and I am a member of the LHCb collaboration at CERN.

CV in PDF format.

Current interests

  • Rare decays of charmed mesons
  • Λc absolute branching fraction
  • Charm physics for the LHCb upgrade
  • LHCb muon detector upgrade

Other interests

I also worked on
  • Minimum bias physics, prompt hadron production ratios
  • B physics, CKM γ measurement via tree level processes (B → DK)
  • Charm physics, D decays for physics and detector calibration
  • Magnetic distortion calibration for the LHCb Ring Imaging CHerenkov (RICH) detectors

Physics in general, I did some work on acoustic detection of Ultra High Energy Neutrinos in the sea and Lepton Flavour Violation in B decays.
I am also interested in programming languages for data analysis and web developement.

Recent:

  • The LHCb Collaboration, "Measurement of prompt hadron production ratios in pp collisions at √s = 0.9 and 7 TeV", arXiv:1206.5160 (accepted by EPJ C)
  • A. Borgia, W. Cameron, A. Contu, C. D'Ambrosio, C. Frei, N. Harnew, M. John, G. Lefeuvre, R. Mountain, S. Stone, D. Websdale, F. Xing, "The Magnetic Distortion Calibration System of the LHCb RICH1 Detector", arXiv:1206.0253 (submitted to NIM A)
  • A. Contu, "Particle Production Studies at LHCb", CERN-LHCb-PROC-2011-018, published in Proceedings of Science

I mantain(ed) few websites both for fun and work
  • Oxford LHCb Group Website, on behalf of the LHCb Oxford group
  • QuiProQuote, started as a joke between collegues, it now contains more than 2000 quotes and funny scenes of today's life.
